Limassol Del Mar - The Signature Project

Located on one of the most well-known sections of the Cyprus coastline, Limassol Del Mar is developed by Cypriot Properties Ltd, a company formed by Leptos Group and D. Zavos Group. Through its architecture and interior design, it offers a way of living that is deeply connected to the Mediterranean landscape. The architectural design, created by the international firm Benoy of London in collaboration with UDS Architects, unfolds amongst gardens and swimming pools, establishing a direct connection with the sea and the cosmopolitan character of the city of Limassol.

It is within this context that The Signature Collection takes shape : a selection of two- to six-bedroom flats and penthouses, characterised by spacious panoramic terraces and views of the Mediterranean. For the interiors, ONIRO Group incorporates the design language of Gianfranco Ferré Home, creating a scheme in which the brand’s Italian heritage meets references to local architecture.

The connection with the location is reflected in the definition of the spaces, starting with colour: a palette ranging from sandy tones to aqua green echoes the hues of the coastal landscape, whilst fabrics deeply rooted in the identity of Gianfranco Ferré Home – Prince of Wales, pinstripes and houndstooth – are reimagined through unexpected combinations of materials. The result is not simply the transposition of a stylistic code, but its interpretation in the light of a specific architecture, geography and way of experiencing space.

ONIRO Group and Limassol Del Mar: a project centred on the identity of the location

The collaboration on Limassol Del Mar brings together organisations with different areas of expertise around a shared vision of living. Within an architectural project strongly characterised by its proximity to the Mediterranean, ONIRO Group contributes through its Interior Design Service to create spaces that preserve the distinctive identity of Gianfranco Ferré Home whilst establishing an authentic connection with the surrounding environment.

The work on the interiors is the result of combining different disciplines: architecture, landscape design and brand identity. Colours, materials, patterns and furnishings become the tools through which these diverse elements are brought together into a unified vision, integrating the identity of Gianfranco Ferré Home into the project.

In the client’s view, the choice of brand takes on a specific significance within the definition of The Signature Collection:

“The collaboration with Gianfranco Ferré Home was the result of a significant strategic decision: the brand’s prestige enables Limassol Del Mar to stand out from all other projects on the island, enriching the interiors of the Signature Collection’s flats with typically Italian elegance, taste and refinement, perfectly capable of enhancing the project’s external architecture.”

Pantelis Leptos, vice-chairman of the Leptos Group and managing director of Cypeir Properties Ltd

A vision that is reflected in ONIRO Group’s design approach and in its ability to adapt the Gianfranco Ferré Home aesthetic to the specific nature of the project:

“Limassol Del Mar – The Signature Collection perfectly embodies the unique and refined style for which Gianfranco Ferré Home is internationally recognised. This shared vision has led to an exceptional partnership, faithful to the design principles that define the way we work. We believe in impeccable quality, understated luxury and continuous experimentation, which drives our brands to constantly push beyond their limits. The Signature Collection draws on the heritage of our past whilst adapting to the spirit and concept of the project. The result is a beautiful collaboration that makes these magnificent apartments a unique feature on the island’s landscape.”

Livio Ballabio, partner and creative director of ONIRO Group

From the landscape to interiors: the Interior Design Service approach

In the Limassol Del Mar project, the starting point is the context itself. The presence of the sea, the architecture of the complex and the characteristics of the flats guide the development of the concept, enabling to identify a colour scheme and choice of materials that complement the interior design without disrupting the connection with the view beyond the large windows and panoramic terraces.

From this initial analysis, a process takes shape in which the definition of the colour palette, the selection of furnishings and the study of materials proceed hand in hand with the design of the spaces. Shades of sand and aqua green form a colour base evoking the Mediterranean, whilst the tailoring motifs characteristic of Gianfranco Ferré Home introduce a different dimension, characterised by geometric patterns and references to the world of textiles. Princes of Wales, pinstripes and houndstooth are thus reinterpreted through new combinations, ensuring that a recognisable feature of the brand fits naturally into the character of the project.

The design process thus becomes an exercise in progressive definition, in which layout, furnishings, surfaces, fabrics and details are assessed as parts of a single system. It is through this process that the method of Interior Design Service’s enables the transition from the initial idea to the configuration of the spaces, preserving the relationship between brand identity, architecture and location at every stage.

Gianfranco Ferré Home: sartorial codes and architectural sensibility

The identity of Gianfranco Ferré Home stems from the convergence of fashion culture and architectural sensibility, two dimensions that find common ground in interior design through precise proportions, research into materials and a use of fabric that retains a strong link to the world of tailoring. This design language is not confined to individual pieces of furniture, but extends to the overall construction of the space.

At Limassol Del Mar, this approach is interpreted in response to the context. The collection’s signature motifs introduce a recognisable graphic pattern into the apartments of the Signature Collection, but their combination with materials and colours inspired by the Cypriot landscape alters their perception, forging a new relationship between the brand’s codes and the Mediterranean atmosphere.

The same logic underlies the selection of furnishings: forms, finishes and textures all contribute to defining spaces in which the character of Gianfranco Ferré Home remains recognisable without becoming a literal reference. It is precisely in its ability to adapt to the scale, light and architecture of the apartments that the brand’s language finds its own specific expression within The Signature Collection.
