A Hong Kong penthouse where light, materials and décor come together

This Hong Kong penthouse has been transformed by a comprehensive interior design project involving a thorough refurbishment of the rooms. The project, developed by ONIRO Group, begins with the optimisation of the spaces and continues with the modernisation of the décor and a carefully considered lighting scheme, creating a new identity for the entire residence.

The luminous, monochromatic backdrop provides a subtle setting for a selection of furnishings with a strong decorative presence, characterised by luxurious finishes and refined craftsmanship. Delicate textures, natural surfaces and subtle colour variations define an enveloping atmosphere, whilst more intense accents punctuate the composition and introduce depth.

The result conveys a sense of sumptuousness rooted in the quality of the materials and attention to detail. The lighting complements this richness, enhancing the surfaces and shaping the perception of the spaces through a coherent and well-structured sequence.

A luminous colour palette punctuated by luxurious accents

The client’s requirements have guided the creation of a space characterised by soft textures and natural, luminous finishes. Light grey marble and beige travertine clad the walls and floors, creating a delicate colour palette against which matt gold details and darker accents stand out, echoed in the surface finishes, carpets and cushions.

The selection of furnishings expands on this concept through a variety of design languages. Pieces from Jumbo Collection, customised with special fabrics and bespoke finishes, sit alongside elements designed specifically for the project and furniture by Roberto Cavalli Home Interiors. More linear forms alternate with seating featuring soft curves, creating variations that guide the transition between the different rooms.

Light tones and deeper shades set the rhythm of the penthouse, whilst materials and finishes enhance the perceived quality of the interiors. The whole thus takes on a distinct character, capable of accommodating a collection of artworks comprising paintings, sculptures and precious objects.

Interior Design Service: a transformation carried out from start to finish

In the Hong Kong penthouse, the Interior Design Service by ONIRO Group is responsible for the entire interior design, from the reorganisation of the space and the choice of materials to the layout of the rooms and the selection of furnishings, lighting and accessories. Walls, floors and ceilings form part of the design as surfaces capable of creating continuity, depth and atmosphere.

The refurbishment provides an opportunity to rethink the residence, starting with the clients’ needs. The layout of the rooms dictates the sequence of functions, whilst colour palettes, textures and light define the perceptual quality of the spaces. The project proceeds across different scales, from the overall vision of the flat right down to the definition of finishes and individual pieces of furniture.

Customisation plays a significant role in this process. Fabrics and finishes personalise certain pieces from the Jumbo Collection, whilst further furnishings are designed specifically for the penthouse. This approach allows proportions, materials and details to be developed in relation to the characteristics of the rooms, reinforcing the continuity between concept and realisation.

The IDS method finds expression in its ability to coordinate multiple design levels within a single vision. Layout, decoration, materials, lighting, furnishings and works of art all contribute to shaping the penthouse’s identity, transforming the complexity of the project into a sequence of spaces linked by a recognisable design language.

Bespoke furnishings and works of art define the character of the interiors

The choice of furnishings brings different levels of expressiveness to the penthouse. The ONIRO Group's collections are featured in the project, with pieces selected for their decorative qualities. and, in some cases, customised with specific fabrics and finishes. These are complemented by bespoke elements and furnishings from other international brands, creating a composition rich in formal variations.

The more minimalist lines create visual breaks between soft volumes and more elaborate details. Precious materials and luminous surfaces reinforce this contrast, whilst the colour palette maintains a continuity that spans different styles.

The art collection adds a further layer to the composition. Paintings, sculptures and precious objects feature throughout the sequence of rooms as independent elements, contributing to the home’s personality and creating new focal points. Furnishings, décor and art thus construct a complex setting, in which each element finds its place through relationships of scale, material and colour.
